The Change Edition
New rules. New technology. New beginnings.

August was a big month for Australian transport and as it turns out, a pretty big month inside Saphyroo too. While the industry entered a new era of heavy vehicle accreditation, our team was preparing for a few milestones of its own. A new app went live, a new Saphyroo experience started taking shape, packages landed around the world and we somehow managed to deliver hot coffee across five countries at once. There's plenty to catch up on, so let's get into it.
Who's new at Saphyroo
A New Roo Has Joined the Mob! 🦘

Before we get into this month's news, a big Saphyroo welcome to Ross, the newest Roo to join the team. Welcome aboard, Ross! 💜
Industry news
A New Chapter for Australian Transport 🇦🇺
Something big changed on 1 August.
After years of NHVAS shaping heavy vehicle accreditation in Australia, the industry has officially begun its transition to the new Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (HVA) scheme.
And it's more than a change of name.
The focus is shifting to the whole safety operation:
- how risks are managed
- how safety processes work daily
- how operators can show their systems are working in practice
For Australian transport, the message is clear: safety is moving from POLICY to PRACTICE.
NHVAS is making way for HVA and a new era of heavy vehicle safety is underway.
And don't forget to follow our weekly LinkedIn videos as we unpack what these changes mean for Australian operators. 🇦🇺

Breaking news
We Interrupt The Pulse… This Just Came In.
The NHVR has released results from Operation Ambit II, and the numbers are worth paying attention to.
More than 6,100 heavy vehicles were intercepted during the operation, with more than one in ten found to be non compliant.
Fatigue non compliance rose from 4.7% to 5.3%, while false and misleading record offences jumped by more than 42%.
So what does that tell us?
Fatigue management remains firmly in the spotlight!!!
It's no longer just about having the records, it's about what's happening on the road and how operators respond.
The record tells part of the story. The road tells the rest. 🚛

Inside Saphyroo
Meanwhile…
So it wasn't only Australian transport going through a shake up. Back at the office things were moving pretty quickly too. While HVA was making its entrance, our team was preparing a rather big launch of our own… 🚀
We Have Lift Off!
Mission Control confirms: the Roo has landed. 🦘🚀
After months of hard work, late nights, testing, fixing, rebuilding and more than a few sleepless ones, Saphyroo's new app officially went live.
And honestly, you should have heard the team.
Each time another client successfully went live on the new system, it felt a little like mission control at NASA, cheers, excitement, relief and that brilliant moment when everyone realised: we did it. 🚀
It wasn't an easy road to launch and an enormous amount of work happened behind the scenes to get us here. But seeing the new system go live and into the hands of our clients made those late nights worth it.
A huge congratulations to everyone who helped get Saphyroo off the launchpad. 🚀💜
One small step for the team. One giant leap for the Roo. 🦘🚀

Behind the build
Behind the Build: The New Saphyroo 👀
We've been busy behind the scenes creating a new Saphyroo experience, not just changing how it looks, but rethinking how people experience our technology.
As technology becomes more advanced, we've been asking ourselves one simple question: how do we make everything feel even simpler for the people using it?
That thinking has shaped what we're building across Drive360, Vision360 and Route360, a clearer, more connected experience that brings everything together around the user.
And that brings us to one of my favourite words: “USER CENTRIC” It's at the heart of Saphyroo. Every screen, workflow and decision comes back to the same question: does this make the user's job easier?
Behind the scenes, there have been ideas sketched, screens redesigned, words rewritten and plenty of concepts tried, tested and left behind, all to get it right!
Because technology will keep getting smarter. Our job is to make it feel simpler.

Sneak peek
And While Half the Team Was Launching the App… 👀
The other half has been just as busy behind the scenes, working tirelessly on something else rather exciting: the new Saphyroo website.
Now, hush, hush… it's not live just yet. You'll have to wait until next month's edition of The Pulse for the full reveal.
But we couldn't leave you with nothing…
Here's a little sneak peek at what's been taking shape behind the scenes.

Meanwhile in the yard…..
Look What We Caught on Camera… 👀💦
It was already a long day for one of our PMs, who was casually making his way around the office when our resident prankster decided he looked like he needed a good wash on a cold Melbourne day, no less!
The best part? After the surprise soaking, our culprit simply went straight back to what he was doing as though absolutely nothing had happened.
Innocent? We're not convinced. 👀💦
In the Office
Saphyroo Packages Have Landed! 📦💜
Our Saphyroo gift packages have officially made their way to team members around the world and judging by the reactions, they went down pretty well!
The team can now proudly put pen to paper with their Saphyroo pens and notebooks, while carrying a little bit of the Roo with them in their new Saphyroo bags and merch.
And if you're near our Campbellfield office, pop in and say g'day, we'd be more than happy to share some Saphyroo goodies with you too. 🦘💜
One team. Different corners of the world. A little more Saphyroo everywhere.

Coffee's on Us ☕🏆
We recently held our first ever Saphyroo Awards celebration, bringing the team together to recognise the hard work and dedication that went into launching our new app.
And because no Saphyroo celebration is complete without a good brew, we called it “Coffee's on Us”. The mission sounded simple, have a coffee delivered to everyone during the meeting.
The reality? Getting a hot brew to team members across five different countries at roughly the same time was no easy task! Thankfully, Uber Eats came to the rescue and somehow we pulled it off. ☕🌍

During the meeting, we also held our very first Saphyroo Awards, a mix of funny, positive and very well deserved awards celebrating the personalities and people behind the work. There were plenty of laughs, a few surprises and a lot of appreciation for what the team has achieved together.
Here's a glimpse at some of the awards from the day… 🏆💜
