Driver Fatigue & Drowsiness Detection

Vision360 Monitors multiple fatigue indicators over time, prompts the driver through supported in cab alerts and gives operations the context to respond.

How detection works

Fatigue is Detected Through Multiple Signals Over Time

  1. 01

    Visible indicators

Eye closure, yawning, head nodding and eye rubbing detected through the in cab camera.

  2. 02

    Contextual signals

Inattention, lane movement, speed behaviour and journey timing provide greater context around each event.

  3. 03

    Configured logic

Set the frequency, duration, indicator combinations and severity thresholds that trigger an event.

  4. 04

    Fatigue event detected

An event is raised when the configured conditions are met, with a confidence level attached. Human review may still be required.

Worked example

Follow a Real Event From Start to Finish

  • The event

Repeated yawning, eye closure and head nodding are detected together and flagged as a high risk fatigue event. A confidence level shows how closely the detected behaviours match the event criteria.

Worked example strip: three yawns in four minutes, plus repeated eye closure, plus head nodding, resolving to a high-risk fatigue event at high confidence. 4:3, dark UI.
  • The response

A rest stop is proposed based on the remaining route. The dispatcher can review the location, updated ETA and added time before sending the stop to the driver.

Safe rest stop example: the five-step checklist beside a map showing the diversion to a rest location and the estimated additional time. 4:3, dark UI.

From Detection to Action

  • Driver intervention

Prompt the driver through supported in cab alerts, using visual, audible and haptic warnings where available.

  • Operations response

Follow a structured workflow from high risk event to driver contact, safe rest stop, context review and escalation.

  • Fatigue trends

Track when fatigue events occur and which drivers have repeated events, so teams can focus on patterns rather than individual incidents.

Fatigue trend panel: event counters, the events-over-time chart, the time-of-day breakdown and the repeated-events driver list. 4:3, dark UI.

BUILT FOR SAUDI FLEET OPERATIONS

Fatigue Visibility for Demanding Journeys

From intercity freight and long distance highway operations to industrial and remote sites, Vision360 helps bring potential fatigue and drowsiness events into view, giving teams video and journey context to support earlier review and response.

  • Long Distance Operations

Identify supported fatigue and drowsiness indicators across longer journeys, with event video, location and journey context available for review.

  • Driving & Rest Context

Review fatigue events alongside available driving, work and rest information, helping teams understand the wider context around an event.

  • In Cab Driver Alerts

Use supported visual, audible or haptic alerts to prompt the driver when configured fatigue or drowsiness events are identified.

  • Operations Review

Bring event video, vehicle, driver and journey information together so managers and safety teams can review what happened and determine the appropriate response.

Saudi Driving & Rest Requirements. Relevant Saudi freight operations are subject to TGA driving and rest requirements. Vision360 can provide additional fatigue event visibility alongside available driving and rest information, helping teams review potential fatigue risk in context.

Additional features

  • Multiple signal detection

Combine fatigue indicators to identify emerging patterns.

  • In cab alerts

Visual, audible and haptic alerts where supported.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find what you're looking for?

Talk to our team
  • What does Vision360 actually look for?

Visible indicators from the in cab camera, including eye closure, yawning, head nodding and eye rubbing, alongside contextual signals such as prolonged inattention, lane behaviour, speed trends and time of day. An event is raised from the combination of indicators over time, rather than a single moment.

  • Can we set our own thresholds?

Yes. Configure the frequency, duration, indicator combinations and severity required to raise an event, so the rules can reflect different operating environments.

  • What does the confidence level mean?

Confidence shows how closely the observed indicators match your configured rules. It supports event review and triage but is not a definitive assessment, so human review may still be required.

  • How is the driver alerted?

Supported in cab devices can provide visual, audible and haptic alerts. The available alert types depend on the hardware fitted.

  • What happens after an event is raised?

The event is sent to the relevant manager or safety team. The driver can be contacted, a safe rest stop requested, the event reviewed against Drive360 work and rest information and the outcome recorded or escalated.

  • Is the video kept?

Events include the ten seconds before and after the detection, giving reviewers the context around the event rather than a single frame. Video retention and access are controlled by your configured settings.
